In the pool with his clothes on...
nearly an everyday occurrence lately.
A strange noise woke me up this sunny morning. In fact, it almost didn't wake me up...but thankfully, God gave me mommy ears. I couldn't quite figure out what I was hearing, but I knew it was coming from the monitor and I knew I needed to check it out. Last time I had checked on Oliver the night before, he was nearly buried in stuffed animals and blankets. (I was able to sneak a few out of his crib at that point...i usually do:). Imagine my surprise when I poked my head into Oliver's room and saw him jumping up and down in a completely empty crib! It was such a joy to see him so full of happiness that he was literally giggling before 6 am. As per usual, he joined us in our room and "I need the Ipaad. tone. TV awen". Once he is settled, I can usually sleep for another 30-45 minutes before he gets out of bed because he needs a diaper change. This morning however, instead of getting out of bed...he started a pillow fight with me! Then kissed my cheeks and gave great hugs. The funniest part was when Ollie noticed Taylor didn't have a shirt on....Ollie went and got one from Taylor's drawer (don't ask me how he knew on the first try which drawer to check). Then he threw it up on Tay's chest and said "daddy need a turt on".
From our journal (as written by Taylor in Ollie's voice)
I took Brutus outside this morning with daddy. I saw a bird standing in the yard and said "burdie" then one flew by and I said "nother one". Daddy turned with the flying bird and watched the whole flight til it landed. When it came down next to another bird I said "three burdies". I'm a counting, pluralizing pro!
