| Aunt Carla gave me a book with tattoos in it. Before we went today, Nana gave me my first "ink" Its a monkey and my 2nd was an elephant. |
Today was Oliver's first outpatient IVIG infusion and his first time in the non-oncology unit. Our initial nurse was a disaster (might have had a touch of a social disorder) and was eventually sent home. She did not communicate well and brushed off our questions instead of addressing them or telling us she would get an answer later. And, we had a LOT of questions since it seemed everything was done differently in this unit- despite the fact that it was separated by a measly 10 steps from the area where we had done the Rituxan infusions. I'll spare everyone the details, but in the end the Child Life specialists practically insisted that we file a formal complaint against the nurse and the unit for the way they treated us and handled the entire situation.
The positives, Oliver tolerated the treatment VERY well. No reaction noted at all. Our little guy is still a rockstar:)
