Life is a little different these days. In the past, when daddy had to run errands, he would load up his side kick and head out. Now, Ollie's immune status keeps him away from most of the areas that they would normally visit. Tay will take him to the golf stores during the day (since most people are working then) and that is really it. In those cases, Oliver wears a mask, touches only his own golf club and sanitizes on the way in and out and several times in between. Today, however, Taylor had some additional errands to run so Papa Randy volunteered to watch Ollie. Apparently, Ollie followed him everywhere and was really good, watching "Nickey" most of the time.
Usually Ollie eats dinner before I get home, but tonight he decided to wait until the grown-ups ate. Taylor grilled some great steaks and nana made some green beans and tater tots. Tay had made sure to make my steak without any added sodium because Oliver LOVES to steal my bites. Tonight, I couldn't keep it cut fast enough for him. He was also given 4 tater tots. Not 5, not 3, but 4. They have a decent amount of sodium, but in 4 it was low enough to keep him well within his limit. Well, Oliver wasn't satisfied with that, so he stole one off of my plate and then begged one from papa. He dipped each one with great care in the dot of ketchup we gave him. He loved every bite.
After dinner, we headed down to the basement to wait out the tornado warnings in the area. By the time we got down there- with extra diapers, water, snacks, etc- the warning was over. Note to self- might be a good time of year to have those things in the basement already.
Lately, Ollie has been employing the words/sounds: mmmhmmm, hmmm, nooo and uh-uhhh. Hard to understand how cute they are without hearing the tone and inflection, but trust me...it is challenging not to laugh.
We spent an hour this morning jumping off of the trampoline. He was jumping onto me, but when I started making him count before he launched, he decided that was too much work and started jumping onto pillows instead.
