"Hello? Mama?"

June 4th, 2013

Mama's friend Lillian gave me
these cool boots, her son Quincy
outgrew them. I LOVE them!
I woke up at 5:30 this morning to "Mama, mama.....Hello? Mama?" I brought Ollie into our bed...because no one should be out of bed at 5:30 in the morning (i'm sorry if you have to be.  I choose not to be!)  Generally, he will fall back asleep for awhile and then wake up and play with the iPad and watch Disney Jr before ultimately waking us up at 7 or 7:30 to go "downtares".  Unfortunately, I left the iPad at Mimi's house, so Oliver was significantly less settled in.  Around 5:45, he started piling pillows on me and playing peek-a-boo.  It was hard to be frustrated with that round, smiling, face.  He started saying "no shot" as soon as we started coming downstairs.  When he saw it drawn into the needle he said "Mama make it go way!"  Big frown, but he really still does well with the actual shot.  It is just the anticipation that upsets him.

Since you liked your "candies" so well at Mimi's she suggested wrapping our prunes in cling wrap to make them seem more special.  I took her advice and even put them in the little candy jar that used to have Hershey's Kisses.  You love the treat (but, don't think he doesn't remember how good REAL candy is:)

Nana caught Ollie saying, "wow, man" and "cool, man" a lot today.  Instead of actually playing with Play-dough, he stacked the containers into towers instead.

This hat fit my
head at Christmas!
Nana watched Ollie tonight so Tay and I could go out and work with our business team.  It was fun for us to be working together again.  We were so happy to come home to a good report.  Ollie and Nana played in the basement with flashlights and read books.  She wrote "You are just so much fun!" in his journal.  Since Ollie really needed a bath after playing outside, she put him in the laundry tub and gave him a half shower/ half bath.  He LOVED it.  He even let her wash his hair, which has been quite the challenge recently.  Apparently Oliver wanted to swim in the tub, but it was a little too small.  He is such a character.
