| Taylor caught this moment... Ollie is examining a flower he just picked from Nana's plant He's got a one/day limit so they last:) |
This morning, Oliver wanted a ride down the stairs. Well, it was my first trip down and I had a lot of things in my hands, but this is how the convo went.
O: Pick me up
Me: my hands are full
O: (pointing to my empty right arm) I go there
Needless to say, I couldn't resist. The only challenge really was in actually picking him up, he was right, I did have one hand free. We made it down stairs and he launched himself into Nana's room to wake her up. He helped her make her bed and "sorted" the books in her closet. He was very giggly and happy.

| Ollie wanted to get into my shirt this morning... I think he thought he might get to go to work with me. |
We began to notice a bit of trembling and slurring in his speech over the weekend and this morning Ollie was pulling at his ears and kind of rubbing his head. Taylor took him to Dr Dumont (Ollie's Pediatrician) to be sure he didn't have an ear infection. In the past, we would have given him a day or two before we rushed him in, but now we cannot afford to wait. Oliver's ears were clear and he looked good the rest of the day. We suspect the change of scenery this weekend, while good for his mood, wasn't great for his sleep patterns. I contacted the specialists in IL and they weren't concerned when I told them the scenario.
(I'll keep you all from suspense he is absolutely fine and we were probably just being hyper sensitive. We don't apologize:)
Taylor finally got a response from the speech therapy providers. He had been calling a couple of times a week since we were sent home in April. Apparently, the ST wasn't comfortable with Ollie's case so they had been looking for another provider. Without communicating with us. Taylor put in a request to Washtenaw County's Early On department and they will do an evaluation late in June.
Ollie hanging out with his daddy
Ollie ate really well at dinner. Daddy grilled chicken without any seasoning and mommy gave him some "ice cream" (whipped cream) to dip it in. Afterward we went outside to sit in the new chairs Papa got for the deck. He played with the foam "nake" that Papa made him out of some of the packaging for the table. Ollie was giggling and belly laughing while "getting you".
Papa wasn't home when Oliver went to bed, but he kept asking for kisses from him. So I sent him upstairs even AFTER he was asleep to give them to him because otherwise....Ollie would have woken up in the night asking for them. The kid remembers EVERYTHING. He smiled and fell right back to sleep.
