Oliver is definitely feeling more feisty these days. He had PT again today and again led Laura everywhere. She was impressed with his abilities and hinted, again, that she might not need to continue coming to see Oliver. Taylor asked that she continue coming at least once/week.
Today, Taylor took him to the driving range. They went in the middle of the day (while everyone else was at work) and took precautions to be as isolated as possible. Ollie got LOTS of hand sanitizer while there. He had such a blast and is able to hit the ball very well. His swing has changed a bit, but he was hitting them about 20 feet. Taylor took a video:
When I got home from work, Oliver wanted to play with his Playdough. So, he climbed onto the kitchen chair and settled himself into his little "bumbo"-like chair without any help and asked for it. Then, when he was done, he climbed down. Not an easy feat!
We were all confused by the request for a "toxiscle"...we finally figured out you meant Popsicle! So funny! He's also started saying "awe man" when he doesn't get his way. I'm the only one that has heard it so far, but it is so hard not to laugh.
Tonight when it was time for his medicine, he wanted to hold the oral syringe. He kept sticking his finger in the end and I thought for sure it would end up on the wall behind him. But with a little coaching, he put it to his lips and pushed the plunger. He did not spill a drop! (He has since painted a wall, himself and his mother at one time or another, but that is rare...only 3 mishaps in about 20 days x2/day). I guess having a little control over this one thing helps because he jumps at the chance to take his meds and no longer fights them. And we have the refrain, " Aye do et! Aye do et!"
