OUT TIDE

June 8th and 9th

I get you mama!
I was so excited for this weekend to come....I got to spend Saturday and Sunday, from sun-up to sun-down with my little man.  On Saturday, we went outside after breakfast and didn't come back in until lunchtime.  I blew bubbles while Ollie chased and popped them...he was giggling and clapping, but got a little frustrated when trying to blow them himself.  No worries, he just made me blow more!  Ollie played a little basketball and then decided he wanted to go for a walk.  The only problem was, Ollie didn't want to ride in the stroller.  He wanted ME to!  So, he pushed me down the driveway.  We hung out by the mailbox for awhile, looking at nature.  When we decided to continue our walk, Oliver pushed the empty stroller around the corner and past 3 houses before I finally convinced him to ride in it.  The only way I got him to cooperate was to show him how many more flowers he would be able to see if I was pushing him.  When we got back to the house, Ollie wanted to fly the kite.  So, we did- after first running around like crazies yelling "poop lert!" so I could pick up all the little treasures left behind by Brutus and Daisy. Ollie wanted to "dew et" himself...challenging in gusting winds.  We rounded out the morning with some golf before going back inside for lunch.

Oops...golf ball "tuck"

After nap and snack we went straight back outside.  I helped undo everything Taylor had previous taught Oliver about the rules of golf in our yard. (I didn't do it purposely, but looking back I kinda knew Ollie was working on me to help him break the rules:)  We hit golf balls into the trees and had to use everything from the club to a rake and a broom to get them out.

Later in the evening, one of our good friends and mentors- Jud Ayers- stopped by for a quick visit.  It was great to see another Warrior, especially one who is currently celebrating total victory over CLL.  (visit victoryovercll.org to see Jud's story- its a good one:)
Ollie showed off his skills and had a good time.

Apparently all the running around in the humidity caused a little "chaffing" for O-man.  I fixed him up the best I could with LOTS of goop, but he was walking so funny.  He took a really wide stance and kinda swung his legs around to avoid further irritation.  I felt really bad for the little guy!  After all the action today, he went to bed really easily!  What a fun day.

Sunday was more of the same, but we had to do some diaper rash damage control.  Nana suggested using his training pants so there was more airflow.  After the first accident, I added the plastic pants and then we put a mini cool pack in there to help with the rash.  He really liked that!  Ollie decided it would be funny to mimic me when I called his Daddy Tay-Tay and then later called me Katie.  He was right, we laughed, but tried to hide it so we didn't encourage him to keep it up! We started calling raspberries "finger berries" because Ollie sticks his little fingers in them to eat them.  He loves eating anything he can dip in "ice-cream" or "dippy" both are whipped cream:)  Lots of pictures and videos, but that's what happens when mommy is home all day!
