identity crisis

May 24th, 2013

As he is climbing all over me, I thought to ask the following:

mama:  Ollie, are you a boy or a monkey?
Ollie:  (with glee)  I  A BOY!

Phew, he still knows he is a child, not a Ollie-phant, or an Ollie-gator, or an Ogiraffe....right?
Maybe not, because a few minutes later I asked again....

mama:  Ollie, are you a boy or a monkey?
Ollie:  (with still more glee)  I a MUNTEE, oo oo!

and still another answer later in the day:

mama: Ollie, are you a boy or a monkey?
Ollie:  I a towboy! Yee haw, ride 'em towboy!

Yes, it is probably strange that I continue to ask the same question...but the answers are so funny and varied!  Taylor can attest, my FAVORITE thing in life is to laugh.  God knew this, because he gave me a little boy who TRIES to make me laugh.  Maybe I missed it, but I don't recall any other 2 year old I've known who was so aware of his impact on other people and worked so hard to make them laugh. Yet it appears effortless. What a joy.  LOVE this kid!
