Nature at the Lake (LOTS of PICTURES!)

June 15th

Today we took a "safe trip" to Carla's Park Lake house.  Aunt Carla's house has been pretty much vacant since it flooded this winter and was stripped to bare bones, so relatively germ-controlled environment.  Ollie was very excited to go see his aunt and "tissy", too.  He wanted to go on the "wake" and go out on the "bowat".  I told him to ask nicely, so he did...."Aunt Carwa, go on the bowat, puhwease, puhwease, puhwease?"  We saw turtles, swans, deer, fish, bugs, squirrels, chipmunks, birds, and lots of flowers.  We picked flowers and strawberries (some that weren't quiet ripe yet, some that the chipmunks had already gotten), fed chips to the daddy swan and pee-peed off the side of the boat.  We had a picnic lunch in the living room and played with butterfly toys.  Aunt Carla played toys with Ollie for a long time- dominos and headandz. Oliver did not want to go home, "I TAY HEHAR" (most definitely implied that I could go anytime I wanted) To help ease the leaving, Fishy suggested Dairy Queen on the way out of town.  I envisioned eating it in the car, but when we go there, Fishy ran to the hardware store and got Chlorox wipes.  I felt more comfortable after that, especially since the tables were well spaced and the people were scarce in the seating area.  We came home and napped for 3 hours then played in his JEEP, ate dinner and went back to bed!  Exciting day!
